If the Nook (an eBook reader) is not properly returned, you can lose the entire value of the product. Please ensure that you follow the instructions carefully.

It’s easy to return an item if you’re not satisfied.
We will issue a refund to your original form of payment for items returned within 14 days.
Items must be returned in their original condition; shrink-wrapped products must be unopened.

Your packing slip provides specific return instructions and addresses — please refer to it for details.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of the date that you received your order. Books, DVDs and CDs (in their original, unopened, shrink-wrapped condition), and Toys & Games can be mailed with the original packing slip to:

Please Note: NOOK returns are not accepted at the address above, and no refunds will be approved to NOOKs sent there. See our Returning NOOK details. Marketplace items are also not accepted at the above address. See “Marketplace Items” section below.
If you prefer, you may bring the item and your packing slip to any Barnes & Noble Bookstore within 14 days of receipt. Please call your local store for more details.
If you used PayPal to complete your order and want a refund to your PayPal account you must call 1-800-THE-BOOK (843-2665) and get a return authorization number for credit back to your PayPal account. If you return your nook to the store and have paid with PayPal, the store will give you a Barnes & Noble Gift Card or in-store credit. The store cannot refund back to your PayPal account.
Within 30 days, Marketplace items can be returned directly to the Seller indicated on the packing slip. The refund will be issued once the seller confirms that the item is in the same condition that you received it, and processes the return through BN.com’s system.
If you don’t have the packing slip, you can look up your Order Status and click the Check Status button next to the item. You will see the Seller’s email address, which you can use to contact the seller for return procedures.
If you are dissatisfied with an Audiobook MP3, please call Customer Service at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665). You may also send an email.
Returning Items from Other Vendors
If you would like to return an item that you purchased from another vendor, please check the packing slip for specific return instructions and addresses.
Items That Cannot Be Returned
We are unable to accept returns for NOOK Books, magazines, downloadable PDFs for SparkNotes products, gift cards, and shrink-wrapped items that have been opened. Please note: Once purchased, NOOK Books cannot be refunded.
Bulk orders of 50 or more copies are non-returnable.
If your return is shipped or brought to a store after the timeframes indicated above or without a packing slip, we regret that we cannot issue a refund or send the merchandise back to you.
NOTE: Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Returning Items Bought in Barnes & Noble Bookstores
Barnes & Noble Bookstores make it easy to return an item when you are not satisfied.
Simply bring the item and your cash register receipt to your local Barnes & Noble Bookstore for a refund to your original form of payment or, if you have a gift receipt, for a refund as a gift card. Please call your local Barnes & Noble Bookstore for more information.
You can return nook within 14 days of receipt. Either call 1-800-THE-BOOK (843-2665) for a return authorization, or return it to a Barnes & Noble store.
