Product Returns
Products can be returned within 60 days of receipt for refund or exchange. Products can be returned for any reason, but there may be a 15% restocking fee if they are not either unused or defective.
Factory shipped products may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. These products require approval from the manufacturer and are not returned directly to Northern Tool.
Return Exceptions
Gas and diesel-powered products cannot be returned to Northern Tool once they have been gassed or oiled. If they have been gassed or oiled they need to be taken to an authorized service center for repair which may be covered under warranty.
Custom orders are nonreturnable. These include when a specific attribute is requested (finish, color, size) or when an item is built to order.
Other non-returnable items include: NorTrac equipment, surface cleaners, gang reels, winches, reconditioned forklifts, books, DVDs, CDs, videos, blueprints, clearance and electronic auction items.

Returning Northern Tool Store Purchases
Purchases made at a Northern Tool store must be returned to a Northern Tool store location. If you made an online purchase at a Northern Tool store, please follow the Northern Tool Website and Catalog return instructions.
Returning Northern Tool Website and Catalog Purchases
If Your Products Arrived Damaged
Please carefully inspect any packages before signing for them. In the event of an issue, contact the shipping carrier that delivered your package within 24 hours of receiving it.
First, Get a Return Authorization Number

Then, Bring Your Returned Products to a Northern Tool Store
Products purchased online, by phone or catalog may be returned to your local Northern Tool + Equipment store. To expedite your return at the store, please bring your packing slip, order number, or return authorization number along with your products for return. Find a store near you.
Or, Ship Your Returned Products to Northern Tool
Refer to the return form printed on the back of your invoice, and write down the return authorization number in the space provided. Use the return form as a new shipping label. Apply it to the original box or use a sturdy substitute to ship products. You may choose any shipping carrier.
Processing your return via shipment will take 2-4 weeks. Refunds are for the cost of the products only.
