“Returns

At Williams-Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. If, within 90 days, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please return the item for an exchange or refund of the merchandise value.

The following policies apply to all returns:

An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns.

Returns with the original purchase receipt will be exchanged or refunded in the original tender.

Returns with a gift receipt will be exchanged or refunded with a merchandise credit for the value indicated on the gift receipt.

We cannot accept returns of personalized or monogrammed merchandise or direct-ship or special-order items except when due to defect.

Made-to-order upholstered items, Quick Ship items and fabric by the yard cannot be returned but may be cancelled only within 24 hours of order placement. Should your item arrive damaged or with a defect, please contact us at 877.812.6235 within 7 days so that we may arrange for a replacement. Bed frames and springs are warranted to be free of manufacturing defects for the product's life, subject to the following conditions: warranty applies only to original owner and normal residential use. Defects resulting from negligence, abuse or use in a commercial, hospitality or other non-residential setting are not covered.

We cannot accept returns of final-sale items indicated by a price ending in ".97."

For returns of items purchased from your Williams-Sonoma Gift Registry, we will gladly provide an exchange for the merchandise within 90 days of your event or within 90 days of purchase, whichever date is later. These returns will be exchanged as a merchandise credit for the value indicated on the gift receipt.

International Returns: Online returns are available only for items that were shipped to the United States. If you would like to return items that were shipped outside the US, please see International Returns and Exceptions.

How to return an item

For your convenience you can begin by processing your return online. Indicate the reason for return and whether you would like a replacement or merchandise credit. At the end of this process you will be able to print a pre-paid UPS shipping label to bring to a UPS drop-off location. Depending on the reason for return, you may be responsible for return shipping ($5.50 for a small package and $12.25 for large or bulk items).

Please note that online returns are available only for items that are 70 lbs and under and were shipped to the United States (includes US Territories and APO/FPO). Online returns can only be used when you bring your items to a UPS drop-off location. If you would prefer to schedule a UPS pickup, please contact us at 1.877.812.6235.

International Returns and Exceptions

General guidelines of which items are ineligible for International Shipping

William-Sonoma offers international shipping on most items. However, certain items are not eligible to ship internationally. Items that are not eligible include:

  • Oversized items or items requiring special handling as denoted by a surcharge after the item price.
  • Hazardous materials, live botanicals, aerosols, food products, perishable items and other items restricted from exporting.
  • Electric items intended for use in the United States and Canada and built to United States electrical standards.
  • Items with licensing restrictions.
  • Gift Cards.
  • Williams-Sonoma Reserve membership

How to Return an Item:

Regularly priced items may be shipped back to us by mail for an exchange, credit or refund. Sale merchandise and final-sale items purchased online cannot be returned. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us at international@williams-sonoma.com or +800 15005555 and we will provide you with further instructions on where returns should be shipped, and the amount you will be refunded. Refund amounts for returned items will be credited to you by our partner FiftyOne in the same currency using the same exchange rate as your original order.
